I think Don Johnson should be a special Valentine. He is my big brother. There may be 18 years between us in age, but we are very close.

My dad passed away when I was in high school. Don is the one who bought my wedding gown, and he is also the one who gave me away on my wedding day.

He has had a hard life, between his eye sight, high blood sugar and his kidneys shutting down about two years ago. He spends every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Davita Dialysis. It hurts so much to see him at only 49 in such bad health. He will turn 50 on Feb. 13.

Don has stepped up to take the place of my dad now that he’s gone. People may think you need to have your children close in age for them to have a great relationship. I am 32 and Don is 49, but we are best friends and I know he would do anything in the world for me.
