Father is ‘good-hearted, kind, loving”

I would like to tell you what makes my dad so special. Dad is not only special to me, but to most anyone, who has had the opportunity to know him.

My dad is the most good-hearted, caring and loving person in the world. He always has a smile on his face and a kind word to say.

Dad has touched the lives of so many in the Grant County community. When they were sad, troubled or down and out, dad never turned anyone away, but helped them in someway.

Dad’s first love is God, his second love is people!

Dad has been a great father of six children. One child, my brother, has been handicapped all his life, now age 55, will tell anyone, “he’s my daddy.” He loves dad still, with the love of an adoring child. Although he is the age of a man, because dad has always shown us his love.

The reason most of all that makes my dad so special to me is: he has always been there for me and our family. Although his children are grown and we ourselves are in our 50s and 60s and dad is now age 79, I know he is still right here, right now, if he even thinks we need him and it has always been that way for us.

But the greatest thing dad did for me was he raised his family with love, a firm hand, morals and to love, trust and believe in God.

In 1985, dad became pastor of the Williamstown Pentecostal Holiness Church. Dad and mom were still living in Cincinnati, where dad still worked at the same job for over 30 years. Dad, now retired, moved with mom to Corinth in 1990. Mom had become blind and very ill with diabetes and heart trouble. My dad took total care of my mother with the greatest love, gentleness, concern and compassion anyone could ever imagine.

Dad lost mom to kidney failure in 2005 after 57 years of marriage. His heart was broken, but he continued to trust God. Dad has remarried to a great woman, Joyce and they work together for God in the pastorship of the church Thank you for letting me tell you about my dad.
