Several local nurses attended the Spring Kentucky School Nurses Conference. Local nurses attending included, Mary Lillard, LPN Mason Corinth Elementary, Rhonda Schlueter, RN NCSN, Grant County Schools district health coordinator, Julie Lewis, RN Williamstown Schools nurse, Tracy Merrell, LPN Dry Ridge Elementary, Valerie Blackburn, LPN, Angie Jones, RN Grant County High School, Julie Spillman, LPN Grant County Middle School and Christy Hagedorn, RN Crittenden Mt. Zion Elementary.
The training included diabetes and ADHD update information as well as information on the student tracking Infinite Campus and how nurses can best use the computer tracking on nurses office visits. National School Nurse Association also had a leadership training.
“Grant County is fortunate to have a nurse in each school. This is not the case in all schools in Kentucky. We are grateful to the local board of health for assisting our school boards in the funding of trained school nurses to care for our students,” said Schlueter.
