Scam alert

Jeff Sipple decided to take advantage of Monday’s warm weather and catch up on some yard work.

Sipple, of Corinth, was surprised when a woman approached him, called his name and handed him a yellow envelope from the Bank of America.

“It told me they expected me to call them today and that I should be prepared to give them my account number,” Sipple said.

Sipple said it entered his mind that this was a scam because he doesn’t have an account with Bank of America.

“I asked her if it was a scam,” he said.
