Cash Express on Broadway in Dry Ridge was the victim of theft on July 17.
Dry Ridge Police Chief Rick Kells said a woman, attempting to disguise herself as a man, entered the business at 10:54 a.m.
When the clerk told the woman she’d need to show a driver’s license to open an account, she handed the clerk a note demanding money, along with a bag.
She also took the clerk’s cell phone.
The clerk, according to Kells, managed to set off an alarm which alerted a security company. The security company called Cash Express and the thief ran from the building with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police do not know what direction the woman left, but are asking the public for help.
Anyone with information is asked to call Kells at 428-1212.
