GCMS Academic Team students off to state championship

The Grant County Academic team will send two students to the state championship on March 16 through March 18 in Louisville. Genevieve Risner, an eighth grader, is attending for social studies and Sammie Schawe, a seventh grader, is attending for composition.
The academic team placed first at regional’s for the district.
The coach of the academic team is Karen Allie.

Local students named to Dean’s List at Centre College
 Centre College has released its dean’s list for the fall term, an honor reserved for students who maintain at least a 3.60 grade point average. Local students receiving this honor include:
• Preston Cahill is the son of Joseph and Billie Cahill of Dry Ridge and is a graduate of Grant County High School.
• Dean Faulkner is the son of Clarence and Kathy Faulkner of Williamstown and is a graduate of Williamstown High School.
Centre College, founded in 1819, is a nationally ranked liberal arts college in Danville, Ky.

Keith receives presidential scholarship from Xavier
Kayla Keith of Dry Ridge has received a presidential scholarship from Xavier University. She is the daughter of Debbie Rogers and Robert Keith. Keith will graduate from Grant County High School in the spring and is active as vice president of the National Honor Society, president of Mu Alpha Theta and band. Keith plans to major in accounting.
