What do you expect from your players? We only have two rules this year: Work hard to improve your golf game and enjoy representing Williamstown High School and your community as a Lady Demon Golfer and don’t forget rule number one.
Outlook for the upcoming season: Our objective this year is to have fun while improving our game. Therefore, our outlook is that if each player continues to improve then the team gets better, then the wins and losses will take care of themselves.
Who are your top returning players? What makes them top players? First we are a young team with a sophomore, two freshmen and two seventh graders. Sophomore Sandra Hicks has been our most consistent player and has been medalist in one match. Freshmen Carly Middleton and Hannah Scroggins (who was also medalist in one match) round out our top three. I am proud of the efforts to date of these three players. They form a solid foundation for our golf team.
Who are the newcomers on the team that have the chance to make a difference? Experience and knowing that improvement takes a lot of supervised as well as non-supervised practice. All three of these are capable of shooting a low round. Shelby Gutman and Katelyn Kidwell are seventh graders and I am proud of their efforts and the improvement I have seen in their game. They should be able to help the team and will continue to learn from the more experienced players. Chelsea Dunaway, a eighth grader, and Cheyenne Adkins, a fifth grader, are just learning the game and will be a part of the future Lady Demons golf team.

What are some of your teams strengths? We are young and we have plenty of room to improve. We believe it is a strength to see improvement in our game each week. It gets the players excited and motivated.

What areas do you want to improve upon? Our short game, especially putting. We could improve five to 15 strokes in each match by improving our putting.

What are your team goals for the season?
Improve, improve, improve-each day, each match, each year.

Who is the team to beat this season?
There are a number of good teams Notre Dame, Owen and Grant County are always good. I would definitely put these teams in the top tier with probably a couple that may be a surprise this year.
Motto: “Have fun improving our golf game!” The player may not be able to improve even with hard work but they do control their attitude toward the game.
