James R. Schmiade, 64, of Williamstown, was arrested on charges of wanton endangerment, assault and resisting arrest.
Police say that Schmiade had a verbal argument with his daughter around 7:01 p.m. on July 26. Witnesses told police he fired a small caliber firearm into the air and then aimed it at the vehicle his daughter was driving. A passenger said Schmiade grabbed her arm and tried to pull her from the car.
Police searched Schmiade’s residence but did not find a weapon.
Schmiade was lodged in the Grant County Detention Center.
