Indictments 6-23-11

The grand jury, which met June 8, returned indictments against 18 people.
An indictment means there is probable cause to believe a crime has been committed; guilt or innocence is established later through the trial procedure.
Those indicted were:
• Dillon Slone, 19, criminal possession of a forged instrument first degree.
• Dennis Sandlin, 38, possession of a controlled substance first degree, first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia, first offense.
• Farris Sandlin, Jr., 45, possession of a controlled substance first degree, second or subsequent offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, first offense and persistent felony offender first degree.
• Douglas James Dischar, 23, trafficking in a controlled substance first degree, second or subsequent offense.
• James D. Thornton, 46, three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance second degree, first offense.
• Matthew S. Freeman, 30, trafficking in a controlled substance first degree, second or subsequent offense and persistent felony offender first degree.
• Misty Dawn Griffith, 32, attempt/obtain controlled substance by fraud/false statement/forgery, first offense.
• John C. Griffin, 41, theft by unlawful taking or disposition from coin machine valued $500 or more and persistent felony offender first degree.
• Jennifer R. Johnson, 32, theft by unlawful taking or disposition from coin machine valued $500 or more and persistent felony offender first degree.
• Terri S. Hammock, 44, theft by unlawful taking or disposition from coin machine valued $500 or more.
• Venessa Faye Smith, 32, theft by unlawful taking or disposition from coin machine valued $500 or more.
• Sergio Morales, 23, three counts of wanton endangerment first degree.
• Joshua R. Howe, 26, manufacturing methamphetamine, first offense, possession of a controlled substance first degree, second or subsequent offense, possession of a controlled substance third degree, second or subsequent offense, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, first offense within a five year period and failure to or improper signal.
• Matthew James Ratliff, 19, four counts of burglary third degree.
• Deborah J. Meece, 46, knowingly abuse/neglect of adult by a person.
• Christina L. Edwards, 29, flagrant nonsupport.
• James D. Minix, 46, complicity to attempt/obtain controlled substance by fraud/false statement/forgery, first offense.
• Walter F. Saulsberry, 77, complicity to attempt/obtain controlled substance by fraud/false statement/forgery, first offense.
