Indictments 11-12-09

The grand jury, which met Oct. 14, returned indictments against eight people.

An indictment means there is probable cause to believe a crime has been committed; guilt or innocence is established later through the trial procedure.

Those indicted were:

• Jefferson M. Hamilton, 28, for second-degree burglary and receiving stolen property over $500 but less than $10,000.

• Carl Scott, Jr., 34, for second-degree burglary, receiving stolen property over $500 but less than $10,000 and for being a persistent felony offender.

• Terry L. Arrasmith, 33, for second-degree burglary, receiving stolen property over $500 but less than $10,000 and for being a persistent felony offender.

• David W. Powers, 35, for wanton endangerment, criminal mischief, leaving the scene of an accident, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, first offense, failure to maintain insurance and fail to give right-of-way to vehicle passing in opposite direction.

• Eric Matthew Deck, 29, for flagrant nonsupport.

• Isaac Wade Gabbard, 29, four counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument.

• David Caudill, 30, for second-degree assault.

• David M. Suire, 37, for theft by failure to make required disposition of property over $300.
