The Grant County School District have set registration dates for next year’s kindergarten students. The date are:
• March 3 – 4 at Crittenden-Mt. Zion Elementary (428-2171)
• March 5 – 6 at Sherman Elementary (428-5500)
• March 10 – 11 at Mason-Corinth Elementary (824-9510)
• March 12 – 13 at Dry Ridge Elementary (824-4484)
Children who will have their fifth birthday before Oct. 1, 2014, are eligible to attend kindergarten. Children who will have their fourth birthday by Oct.1, 2014 may qualify for preschool - based upon income or disability. Parents should contact their local school as soon as possible to schedule an appointment for kindergarten and preschool registration.
An original birth certificate is required at the time of registration, together with pertinent guardianship and/or custody papers, when applicable. Proof of income will be required for preschool registration. Also, the following items are needed to complete school enrollment: certificate of immunization, physical examination, dental examination, eye examination by an eye specialist, the child’s Social Security card, and proof of residency (document such as utility bill, lease agreement, etc., showing parent’s name and address – or notarized statement if documents mentioned above are not available). These items should be brought to the school at the time of registration.

Williamstown Elementary will hold kindergarten registration at the Williamstown Baptist Church on March 14 and March 21 for students living inside the Williamstown District school boundaries and for students living outside the Williamstown District school boundaries but would like to be considered for enrollment.
Students are eligible for kindergarten by turning 5 years old on or before Oct. 1, 2014. During registration, it is imperative that the incoming student attend with their parent/guardian. Paperwork and applicable screening will take place. Therefore, participants will need to allow approximately one hour for the entire process.
The following must be brought with you to registration;
• Child’s Birth Certificate
• Up to date Immunization Certificate
• Two proofs of residency (i.e. driver’s license, utility bill, telephone invoice, etc.)
• Any applicable custody papers
Kindergarten students must have an eye exam by a licensed optometrist, a dental exam, and a physical exam. These items do not have to be completed at the time of registration but must be completed before your child is eligible to begin school.
