Grant seeks new student enrollment

Any new student (kindergarten – grade 12) planning to attend Grant County Schools during the 2010-2011 school year is encouraged to complete enrollment paperwork at the Grant County Schools Welcome Center. You must register by calling the center, at 859-428-5499, to schedule an appointment.

As a follow-up for kindergarten enrollment, it is necessary for students to participate in a number of health screenings and interactive activities known as the DIAL-III assessment.  July 12 (noon – 6 p.m.) and July 20 (8 a.m. – noon) have been designated for those activities, which will be held at the center (located at Sherman Elementary), and are intended for students planning to attend any of the four Grant County elementary schools: Crittenden-Mount Zion Elementary, Dry Ridge Elementary, Mason-Corinth Elementary, or Sherman Elementary. Children who will have their 5th birthday before Oct. 1, 2010, are eligible to attend kindergarten.

The following documents are required to complete a student’s enrollment and should be brought to the welcome center at the time of registration.

• Student’s original birth certificate

• Proof of custody/guardianship, if applicable.

• Photo ID of parent/guardian

• Student’s Social Security card.  

• Up-to-date immunization certificate (on Kentucky form)

• Physical examination (on Kentucky form)

• Dental examination

• Eye examination by an eye specialist

• Proof of residency (utility bill or lease agreement)
