Grant County, Williamstown, set dates for graduation

Seniors at Grant County and Williamstown high schools will soon be putting on their caps and gowns.

Dates are set for the graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2012 at both schools.

For the first time since it moved to Warsaw Road, GCHS will hold its ceremony outdoors at the football stadium at 7 p.m. Friday, May 18.

In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the GCHS gymnasium.

If graduation has to be moved indoors, the audience will be asked to adhere to stricter ticket guidelines that will be released at a later date.

GCHS is expected to graduate 245 students in this year’s class.

Williamstown High School will hold its ceremony the following week at 7 p.m. May 25 in the gymnasium,

The district anticipates there will be 57 graduates in this year’s class.

During the ceremony, another member of Williamstown’s Wall of Fame will be recognized.

The Williamstown Board of Education is now accepting nominations for the Wall of Fame.

Nominations need to include: the name of the candidate, address, home and office phone number, a narrative or the basis for the nomination and the sponsor’s name, address and phone number.

Deadline for submitting nominations is 3 p.m. Monday, May 7.
