GRANT COUNTY NEWS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK 4.19.12

Samantha Perry has been named the Grant County News Athlete of the Week for April 19. Perry is the daughter of Greg and Jennifer Perry.

Grade in school: Junior, GCHS
Sport: Softball
Age: 17
Hometown: Grant County
Accomplishments: 2011 All 8th Region tournament award. I have started on the GCHS fastpitch softball team since I was in the seventh grade. Hit five home runs from last season.
History in your sport: I started playing on a team when I was 6-years-old. All the time before that I would play in the back yard with my big brother.
What do you do for fun/recreation: Hangout with family, boyfriend and friends. Staying active outside, playing softball and other sports.
Future plans:  I would like to play collegiate softball, but also would like to become a registered nurse.
What has been your most meaningful experience:  Playing my whole fastpitch career for Ott Reed.
