Grant County Marching Band earned the opportunity to compete in KMEA Semi-final Competition on Nov. 1. Grant County competed along side of 15 other 4A bands, all aiming for those final four slots to advance to Finals Competition that evening.

Taking the field at 11:45 a.m., Grant County entertained the crowd with its show, “Scenes from Nippon” for the last time this season. Grant County ended another great season finishing eighth in state.

Four bands advanced to KMEA Finals: Calloway County, Mercer County Boyle County and Madisonville NH. “We are so proud of the band, they came today with the intention of being the best band that they could be, and they made themselves proud out there,” one band parent said in reaction to their semi-final performance.

Although Grant County did not advance to finals, the band boarded the bus and headed to the University of Louisville’s Papa John’s Stadium to show their support for the bands that did move on.
