Learn about the USDA’s new My Plate logo that has replaced the Food Guide Pyramid, the new SuperTracker tool and the Dietary Guidelines for Americans which provide advice for Americans ages two and older about consuming fewer calories, making informed food choices and being physically active to attain and maintain a healthy weight, reduce risk of chronic disease, and promote overall health.

An overview of diabetes mellitus, including a definition of the illness, the causes for high blood sugar, why high blood sugar is dangerous, the risk factors for diabetes, how to get tested for diabetes and ways to lower the chances of getting diabetes or to control it. Door prizes available

A general discussion about high blood pressure, including the meaning of blood pressure numbers, the effects of high blood pressure on the body, risk factors for high blood pressure, how to prevent it with diet & lifestyle changes, and how / when to be screened for high blood pressure.
