GCHS Winter Guard ends season as Scholastic A-2 Champions

The Grant County Winter Guard, a division of the Grant County Band program, finished their season in the Tri-State Circuit Championships at Ryle High School receiving first place with a score of 81.48 performing their show titled “River” by Emeli Sande.

The staff composed of Jay Logan, Olivia Duguid, Johnny Harris and Mackenzie Dailey continued to improve the show as did the dedication of the Winter Guard members who were determined to achieve excellence, which was reflected in their rise in scores consistently throughout the five competitions.

The Grant County Winter Guard competed at Campbell County on Feb. 1 receiving second place with a score of 58.16, Conner on Feb. 22 receiving second place with a score of 66.35, Bryan Station on March 1 receiving first place with a score of 71.50, Milford on March 8 receiving first place with a score of 71.71 and finishing at Ryle with first place for the championship win with a score of 81.48.

The Grant County Winter Guard, a division of the Grant County Band program under the direction of Dr. Timothy Dailey and Andrew McGrannahan, is continuing to grow as a program and is looking forward to the next Winter Guard season.
