GCHS, WHS KNOCKED OUT OF DISTRICTS

Lady Braves, Lady Demons look to next seasonBoth the Williamstown Lady Demons and the Grant County Lady Braves volleyball teams ended their seasons on Oct. 9 in the 32nd District Tournament held at Grant County High School.
Grant County faced the undefeated Simon Kenton Lady Pioneers, losing the game in three sets 25-9, 25-8, and 25-12.
Williamstown met rival Walton-Verona, losing 25-13, 25-8, and 25-15.
Both teams are proud of their accomplishments this season and look forward to improving next year.
Seniors hope that their legacies will inspire future teams.
“I’d like to leave knowing that I was a leader and loved on that team. I want to be missed,” said Lady Braves Taylor Cummins. “I love being a senior and I’m excited to see my career for volleyball that has yet to come”
In the championship game held on Oct. 11, Simon Kenton swept Walton-Verona to win the tournament.
