Grant County High School Student Technology Leadership Program students competed in the state STLP competition at Rupp Arena in Lexington on May 13.
As part of their showcase, students presented an analysis of Operation Take Charge, where they taught basic computer skills to adults. Their vision was two-fold: to give back to the community and to complete a project that the group proposed at STLP regional competition.
The showcase team won Best In Region and made it to the top 12 percent in the state.
Mason Given, a freshman, took first place for Georgetown College Robotic Usage. Daniel Miller, president, was one of four seniors in the state who won the Mary Grace Jaeger $1,000 scholarship through KYSTE. Miller also took fourth place for his technical writing piece.
Their advisors, Helen Southworth and  Kristie Howard, said the students had worked hard and they were proud of what they had accomplished this school year.
