The calendar may read June, but for the Grant County High School football team, it means the season has officially started.
For coach Mike Davis and his team, passing league workouts, which feature no pads and helmets, no running plays and no defensive pressure, have the Braves on the practice field with the hope of improving prior to their Aug. 29 season opener against Pendleton County.
Grant County worked on its passing offense June 7 at a 7-on-7 tournament in Louisville, where Davis saw some flashes of greatness.
