Grant County High School students, Jessica Holtman and Destiny Fleckinger, took first and second place respectively at the regional art show, both in drawing, which qualified them for the all-state show. Jessica Holtman received a first place in the state for her drawing, “It’s 3 a.m. What are you doing?” and Destiny Fleckinger received a certificate of participation for her scratchboard “Iguana.”

The show included winners from the Kentucky Art Education Association regional shows held in March.

The students could submit works in many categories, including painting, drawing, graphic design, sculpture, cultural heritage/diversities, mixed media, printmaking, fashion design, fiber arts and textile design, ceramics, jewelry and metal smithing, photography, digital media, and video/film.

The show concluded with a reception and awards.
