MOBILE, Ala. — A former Dry Ridge pastor was sentenced July 19 to 17 and a half years in prison for sending and soliciting child pornography through Facebook.
Jerry Cannon, 63, pleaded guilty in April to possession and distribution of child pornography in a federal court in Alabama.
Cannon, a land surveyor, founded the non-denominational God’s House Church in Dry Ridge four years ago.
His Crittenden home was raided Feb. 18 by FBI agents who had been investigating Cannon after a resident of Fairhope, Ala. told the agency a man named “Terry Lewis” was contacting them via e-mail about child porn.
The FBI later determined the account belonged to Cannon and there were 600 images of child porn.
Despite disabling the “Terry Lewis” account, Cannon persisted by using more than a dozen false Facebook accounts, according to the FBI.
