Former GC teacher wins award

Chad Carr, pictured right, bottom, has received the Superintendent of the Year award, for the second consecutive year, for his work as regional vice president/superintendent of a global education company in Columbus, Ohio.

Carr, a former Dry Ridge resident and teacher/football coach at Grant County High School, received the honor for his work in taking one of the schools from a rating of academic emergency to excellent within three years time. He is superintendent of five schools and 2,300 students in the Columbus area. Each school has made significant gains, with three schools scoring in the excellent/effective range on the Ohio Achievement Assessment.
