Football playoff format changed

For the 2008 football season, the football playoffs will turn back into history as the Kentucky High School Athletic Association announced that the playoff format would change this fall.

The last two seasons, the four teams qualifying from within a district played each other in the first and second rounds based on district records.

This season, schools participating in Class 1A-Class 5A will return to "out of district" cross bracketing beginning with the first round.
