Patrick Spoonamore and the Williamstown Demons came out firing in their first game of the season against Carroll County. Pushing tempo and forcing turnovers, the Demons earned a 74-58 win.
Spoonamore scored 31 points to lead the Demons but credits his teammates for giving him scoring opportunities.
“The basket looked like I could throw a car in it,” Spoonamore said. “It feels amazing, but I couldn’t have done it without the passing of my teammates. They gave me the ball so I could score. We played as a team.”
“It’s always nice to win,” coach Stacey May said. “My kids played as hard as they possibly could. I’ve been preaching good things happen when you play hard. If we had lost, I couldn’t have been upset with them. We played that hard.”
