-A A +A

As providers of funeral service in the community since 1881, the staff at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Homes is aware that the holidays are often a difficult time for those who have experienced the death of a loved one.
The staff of the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Homes in Williamstown and Crittenden will host the 17th annual “Celebration of Remembrance” at 3 p.m. on Dec. 4 in the funeral homes’ Williamstown Chapel. The guest speaker will be Rev. Barry Robinson, pastor of the Williamstown United Methodist Church. The service has been designed to help people of all ages cope with the loss of a loved one. This will be a sensitive program with practical ideas and hope for living through the first year of bereavement
As part of the service, a “Remembrance Tree” will be used to honor each person who has died during the past year. The funeral home will provide ornaments inscribed with the names  of those family members who have passed away. It is hoped that a member of each family will be present to personally place the ornament on the “Remembrance Tree” Funeral home staff members will assist families or will place ornaments on the tree for those families who are unable to attend. The ornaments will remain on the “Remembrance Tree” during early holiday season. Anytime after Dec. 16, family members can stop by the funeral home to pick up the ornament as a keepsake.
