East Kentucky Power Cooperative opened their doors for Duke Energy which serves communities in the area, to use the Crittenden Service Center as a staging area for some of its crews when the March 3 tornadoes ripped through Grant County. Duke Energy raised $5,000 to give EKPC for the charity of thier choice and they chose the American Red Cross for thier efforts in helping the tornado victims. “We wanted to use the money to help the local community,” said Chris Barnes, who supervises EKPC’s Crittenden Service Center.
