District Governor's Cup

Four of the five elementary schools in Grant County competed recently in the District Elementary Governor’s Cup at Crittenden-Mount Zion Elementary. In addition to quick recall team events, students tooks written tests in the areas of math, language arts, science, composition, arts and humanities and social studies.Individual scores are as follows.

The scores for Language Arts are:

First place, Hannah Collopy - Mason-Corinth Elementary.

Second place, Allie Schawe - Dry Ridge Elementary.

Third place, Ryan Price - Williamstown Elementary.

Fourth place, Collin Davis - Williamstown Elementary, Grant Mulligan - Williamstown Elementary and Kilee Howe - Crittenden-Mount Zion Elementary.

The scores for Science are:

First place, Meagan Kinard - Dry Ridge Elementary.

Second place, Michael Brown - Mason-Corinth Elementary.

Third place, Michael Scroggins - Mason-Corinth Elementary.

Fourth place, Benjam Kozar - Dry Ridge Elementary.

Fifth place, Nick Wilson - Williamstown Elementary.

First place, Gwen Watson - Crittenden-Mount Zion.

Second place, Caitlin Haggard - Crittenden-Mount Zion.

Third place, Olivia DeZarn - Williamstown Elementary.

Fourth place, Chastity Evans - Williamstown Elementary and Caleb Caldwell - Mason-Corinth Elementary.

The scores for Arts and Humanities are:

First place, Meagan Kinard - Dry Ridge Elementary.

Second place, Cassidy Lacey - Dry Ridge Elementary and Allie Schawe - Dry Ridge Elementary.

Fourth place, Michael Scroggins - Mason-Corinth Elementary.

Fifth place, Jade Pinkston - Williamstown Elementary.

The score for Social Studies are:

First place, Nolan Calhoun - Dry Ridge Elementary.

Second place, Andrew Davis - Williamstown Elementary.

Third place, Benjam Kozar - Dry Ridge Elementary and Nathan Turner from Crittenden-Mount Zion.

Fifth place, Madison Dalzell - Mason-Corinth Elementary and Ryan Price - Williamstown Elementary.

The scores for Mathematics are:

First place, Hanson Zhou - Williamstown Elementary.

Second place, Nolan Calhoun - Dry Ridge Elementary.

Third place, Megan Garrison - Williamstown Elementary.

Fourth place, Gwen Watson - Crittenden-Mount Zion Elementary.

Fifth place, Caitlin Haggard - Crittenden-Mount Zion Elementary.

The scores for Future Problem Solving are:

First place, Mason-Corinth Elementary and Williamstown Elementary. Each school also held a team quick recall event, which is open to the public. Williamstown Elementary won the quick recall event. Dry Ridge Elementary was second, Crittenden-Mount Zion Elementary placed third and Mason-Corinth Elementary placed fourth. Sherman Elementary does not have an academic team at this time. Those scoring high enough moved on to competition at the regional level.
