An improvement in the past week for the Demons has been the play of junior forward Colton Simpson.

“Colton was much better,” Sigmon said. “However, he needs to block out more and want the ball. He seems to stop posting after one time. Colton must demand the ball at all times and we need to get it to him.”

The Demons will get an opportunity to defeat Trimble County for the second time when they head to Bedford Feb. 5. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

On Jan. 7, Williamstown defeated the Raiders 66-58, for their only win of the season.

Demons coach Steve Sigmon said that his team was able to get the big players on Trimble County in foul trouble and that he looks for them to do the same this week.

After playing Trimble County, the Demons will celebrate senior night on Feb. 7. The three seniors on the team are Derrick King, Dean Faulkner and Kevin McCulough.

For Faulkner, this is his one and only year of high school basketball. He hasn’t played basketball since the eighth grade.

“I just really missed it,” he said about coming back for his senior year. “I watch it all of the time. Coach Sigmon is a good guy and I wanted to come out and play for him.”

Even though the season hasn’t gone as planned, Faulkner said he has enjoyed playing again.

“I wish I would have played all four years, but I am glad I came out and spent time with the team, trying to help them out,” he said.

Sigmon is getting ready for next season after getting his first season in at Williamstown.

“The team has improved a lot since the start of the year,” he said. “We are not winning, but we are competing. You have to compete first before you can win.”

Sigmon said he is now familiar with what all of his players can do and also seeing what the opponents can do.

“I will make some changes for the best next year,” he said. “I expect us to compete and win next year.”

Senior night for the boys will be Feb. 7 against Eminence. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m., with the ceremony to begin after the junior varsity game. Eminence defeated Williamstown in the first round of the 8th Region All “A” Classic Jan. 19.
