After a last minute loss to Walton-Verona, the Williamstown Demons were looking to get a district win at Simon Kenton.

Unfortunately, the Demons lost the game in the final minute, falling 83-72.

“I’m really happy with our effort,” coach Stacey May said. “We could have shot the ball better. But they did a good job of taking our high/low offense away. They gave us open shots, but we just couldn’t knock them down.”

Although they lost, the Demons are building confidence, playing teams to the final minute.

“We gained some confidence,” May said. “We knew, as a coaching staff, we could beat Simon Kenton. Now, the players learned they can compete with them. We’re getting mentally tough and we’re learning we can compete within the district. It was an eye opening experience that showed our players how much they’ve improved.”

Patrick Spoonamore scored 22 points, Anglin scored 18 points, Storm Mason and Wes Philpot each added nine points, Todd Vice scored seven points, Eric White scored five points and Dustin Bryant scored two points.
