DAR holds annual awards ceremony

The Captain John Lillard Chapter KSDAR, Dry Ridge, held their annual awards day reception April 11.

The good citizenship awards were presented to the first and second place winners of the essay contest. The subject of their essay was “Our American Heritage and Our Responsibility for Preserving It.”

The first place winner was Felicity Spicer, a senior at Grant County High School. Her essay was forwarded to the State Chairman of the Good Citizen Committee for judging. Her entry was judged winner of the district and she was honored at the annual KSDAR Conference held in Lexington.

Second place was awarded to Ethan Ritter, a senior at Pendleton County High School. The winners were presented with a monetary award, a pin, a certificate and a card for their wallet.
