NKU Grant County holds open enrollment July 19
NKU Grant County Center will hold open registration from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 19.
Academic advisors will be at the NKU Grant County Center to assist all attendees. In addition, financial assistance and testing staff will be available.
To attend, you must be admitted to NKU for fall 2011 semester. If you’re not admitted yet, go to www.nku.edu to apply.
GCHS offers registration for 2011-2012 year
• New Student Registration
All high school students new to the Grant County school district may register for the 2011-12 school year from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Grant County High School, 715 Warsaw Road, Dry Ridge. Enrollment forms can be picked up at the high school from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning July 5. New student orientation will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 Aug. 8.
•Freshman/New Student Orientation
6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 8 - schedules need to be picked up on Aug. 1-3.
• 2011-12 Schedule Pick-Up and Fee Payment
High school students may pick up schedules and pay fees for the 2011-12 school year on the following dates: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 1 and Aug. 3 and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 2.
GCMS holds orientation, schedule pick up days
Grant County Middle School will be having orientation/schedule pick up for sixth grade students at 6 p.m. Aug. 9, and on Aug. 11 for seventh and eighth grade students, in the school gym.
Principal Tim Grayson will speak to students and parents at 6:30 p.m. Teachers will be in their rooms to meet students and parents until 7:30 p.m.
Parents are encouraged to stop by GCMS prior to orientation from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 18-Aug. 8 to fill out all necessary paperwork, pay $10 fee, bring in immunization certificates, sixth grade physical forms and verification of residence if you have changed address.

Grant County holds kindergarten registration
The Grant County School District will register students who will attend kindergarten this fall, but have not yet registered. Registration will be held from 8 a.m. to noon July 19.
Call Peggy Seevers, at the district office, at 859-824-3323 to schedule an appointment on one of these dates.
Children who will have their fifth birthday before Oct. 1, 2011, are eligible to attend kindergarten. Parents should contact their local school as soon as possible to schedule an appointment for kindergarten registration and screening.
The following documentation must be brought to your appointment:
• original birth certificate
• pertinent guardianship and/or custody papers, when applicable
• certificate of immunization
• physical examination
• dental examination
• eye examination by an eye specialist
• the child’s Social Security card
• proof of residency (a document such as utility bill, lease agreement, etc., showing parent’s name and address – or notarized statement if documents mentioned above are not available)
Parents should make arrangements to bring their child with them to the registration site where the child will be engaged in a number of interactive activities and health screenings. The entire registration process will take an hour to an hour and a half.

Students New to Williamstown Schools
Enrollment packets may be picked up during the summer break at the Board of Education office during regular business hours. Once completed, those may be returned to the board office or beginning Aug. 1, they may be returned to the Welcome Center. Those wishing to apply as an out of district student may pick up their forms at the Board of Education office as well.
WilliamstownSchools offer online enrollment
In an effort to help ease the stress for families during back to school, beginning July 1, you will be able to log onto the school website and print out the forms your child will need for enrollment for the upcoming school year. Fill out the documents and return them this summer during regular business hours to the board of education office, the Welcome Center, beginning Aug. 1 or bring them to us during your child’s back to school event. For those families who do not have access to a computer at home, the school’s library computer lab open on the following days:
• July 21 - from 10 a.m. to noon and from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and
• July 28 - from 10 a.m. to noon and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
