Helping Hands, a coalition of local churches in the community, partners with the Free Store Food Bank in Cincinnati, to hold a food distribution day on the third Thursday of each month in Grant County.

Due to the snow storm, Food Distribution Day will be held for February from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Feb. 18 at Sherman Full Gospel Church, 3185 Dixie Hwy. in Sherman. Participants must have vouchers. For more information, call Barbara Barker at 859-428-2554.

For the love of chocolate

The Grant County Extension Office will host an hour long class on “Chocolate,” at noon March 19.

The class will be held at the extension office on 105 Baton Rouge Road. Topics to be covered include: The origin and history of chocolate, the chocolate making process and types of chocolate, chocolate substitutions, melting, tempering and storing. Finally, that age old question will be considered: “Is chocolate good for you?”

The class will be taught by Kathy Byrnes, Kenton County family and consumer science agent. Register with Nancy at 824-3355.

Storm Spotter Training

SKYWARN ™ storm spotters training will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. March 9 at the Grant County Public Library.

Anyone is welcomed to attend. To become a spotter, you must attend a training session.
