Members of CETA (Community Enrichment Through the Arts) will meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Grant County Tourism Commission office in the Dry Ridge Outlet Center.

 

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE 

 

• The Grant County Industrial Development Authority will meet at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Grant County Chamber of Commerce in Williamstown.

 

CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS

 

• The Grant County Democratic Women’s Club will meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Williamstown Senior Citizens Center, located at the rear of the city building.  

• The Order of the Eastern Star No. 321 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at Masonic Lodge No. 85 in Williamstown.

• The Republican Party of Grant County will meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Williamstown City Building.

• The Williamstown Kiwanis will meet at noon Dec. 10 at El Jalisco in Williamstown.

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

 

• The Kentucky Backyard Beekeepers of Grant County will hold their annual Christmas Pot Luck Supper on Dec. 8 at the Williamstown Firehouse. The meal will be served at 7 p.m. 

 

COMMUNITY SERVICES

 

Helping Hands is open from 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 4 and Dec. 9.  Helping Hands, a coalition of local churches, is located at 214 Barnes Road in Williamstown.  The group’s purpose is to provide emergency help, including food, clothing and furniture, to needy families.

 

EDUCATION

 

• GED studies are offered at the Grant County Adult Education Center, 315 School Road (behind Grant County Middle School). It is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 3 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Call  823-1341 for an appointment or for more information. An all-day GED practice test is scheduled for Dec. 4.

• An Everyday Spanish Class is being offered by Grant County Community Education. The cost is $40. Session four begins on Dec. 9. To register for class, contact Jill Marksberry with Community Education at 824-2871.

 

EXERCISE/FITNESS

 

• A yoga class is set for 7:30 to 9 p.m. Dec. 9 at Warman’s Martial Arts Academy in Crittenden.  Call 428-YOGA (9642) to register or for more information.

EXTENSION OFFICE

 

• The Grant County Extension Homemakers will be selling homemade cookies and candy at the Santa’s Cookie Factory on Dec. 6 in Williamstown as part of the Santa’s Wonderland festivities.  Last year the cookies sold out, so stop by early to get your cookies. There will be free hot chocolate, too! All proceeds go to the scholarship fund. If you have questions, call the Grant County Extension Office at 859-824-3355.

 

GOVERNMENT GATHERINGS

 

• The Grant County Public Library Board of Directors will meet at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 8 in the library at 201 Barnes Rd.

•The Grant County Fiscal Court caucus will meet at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 8.

• The Williamstown City Council caucus will meet at 6 p.m. Dec. 9.

 

HAPPENINGS
