CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

• The Grant County Industrial Development Authority will meet at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at the Chamber of Commerce in Williamstown.

CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS

• The Order of the Eastern Star No. 301 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at Masonic Lodge No. 85 in Williamstown.

COMMUNITY SERVICES

• Helping Hands is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 3 and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 7. Helping Hands, a coalition of local churches, is located at 214 Barnes Road in Williamstown. The group’s purpose is to provide emergency help, including food, clothing and furniture, to needy families.

• Helping Hands Thrift Store is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 5 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 7 and Dec. 8. The Thrift Store is located on Barnes Road (behind Grant County Drugs in Williamstown).

EXERCISE/FITNESS

HAPPENINGS

• The Grant County High School JROTC will host a spaghetti dinner and auction starting at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 at Grant County High School. The auction will be free. The cost for dinner is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 3 to 8 years-old. Dinner will start at 5 p.m. All proceeds go for traveling expenses to meets

HEALTH

LIBRARY

• Saturday, Dec. 5

 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Game Day at the Library - Join others for Xbox, Wii or PlayStation games at the library, especially Gears of War 2. This event is free and open to boys and girls ages 15-25. Participants must provide their own lunch. The library provides an Xbox 360 console and TV, but other systems and controllers are needed.  No registration required.

 All Day Homemade Christmas Cards - Fun for all ages – We furnish the materials and you do the decorating. No registration required.

 5-6 p.m. Christmas at the Library - Grab a comfortable seat and listen to Christmas songs performed by Ann and Bill Stanchina. No registration required.

 • Tuesday, Dec. 8

 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Medicare Part D Prescription Signup. Representatives from the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) will be at the Grant County Public Library to provide enrollment and comparison assistance for Medicare Part D plans. Representatives from Social Security will take applications for the low-income subsidy to help pay for Medicare Part D. Medicare Part D open-enrollment runs from Nov. 15 – Dec. 31 each year. You MUST bring the following to your appointment:  Medicare ID card and Prescription bottles or medication names plus the dosage. If you or someone you know needs help reviewing their Medicare Part D plan, call 859-824-2080 to schedule an appointment for December 8.

 10 a.m.-2 p.m. OneStop Resource Fair - Representatives from six OneStop agencies will be at the library to answer your employment questions and help you get information in these rough times. No prior registration required.
