ARTS

• Members of CETA (Community Enrichment Through the Arts) will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Grant County Tourism Commission office in the Dry Ridge Outlet Center.

CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS

• The Gold Wing Road Riders Chapter N will meet Oct. 10 at Rolling Hills Restaurant in Williamstown. Dinner is served at 6:30 p.m., followed by the meeting at 7:30 p.m. If you own a motorcycle or wish you did, be sure to come. Owners of all makes and models are welcome. CLUBS/ORGANIZATIONS

• The Grant County Farmer’s Market is nearing the end of the season. The 2008 End-of-Season Market Sales will be held Oct. 10 through Oct. 12. Market members with products will be in Crittenden (next to Whippy Dip) in the afternoon and in Williamstown (near the Eagle Creek Learning Center) in the mornings Oct. 10 and Oct. 11. The Farmer’s Market will be at the “Second Sunday – Day of Play” from 2 until 6 p.m. Oct. 12. Come by your favorite location for one of the final visits of the 2008 season. WIC and Seniors FMNP are welcome.

COMMUNITY SERVICES

• A workshop is planned for 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Dry Ridge Housing Authority, 300 Meadowview Circle in Dry Ridge. Dinner will be served and child care will be available on site. The topic will include an overview of education opportunities for adults and the topic, “Maintaining Healthy Relationships.” Call 824-4768 or stop by the Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission at 128 N. Main St. in Williamstown to register.

• Helping Hands is open from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 9 and Oct. 14. Helping Hands, a coalition of local churches, is located at 214 Barnes Road in Williamstown. The group’s purpose is to provide emergency help, including food, clothing and furniture, to needy families.

EDUCATION

• The Grant County Adult Education Center, located at 315 School Road (behind Grant County Middle School) is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

EXERCISE/FITNESS

EXTENSION OFFICE

• Baskets in Kentucky class will meet at 1 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Farm Bureau meeting room. Weaving baskets, a craft as old as mankind, is treasured in the heritage of Kentucky. This lesson will provide an appreciation of the history of basketry including the materials and steps of basket making. Local and state tradition of basketry will be studied. Collectors and basket makers will learn how to preserve and care for baskets.

• The Grant County Board of Directors will meet at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 13 in the library at 201 Barnes Rd.

•The Grant County Fiscal Court caucus will meet at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 13.

• The Williamstown City Council caucus will meet at 6 p.m. Oct. 14.

HAPPENINGS

• The Grant County High School Agriculture Department will have 24 different varieties of student grown chrysanthemums for $5. They will be on sale from 3:05 to 5 p.m. daily at the greenhouse located behind Grant County High School.

• The Northern Kentucky Field and Forest Club will meet from 5 to 10 p.m. Oct. 11 at Lloyd’s Wildlife Management Area in Crittenden. Cost is $3 for 25 practice targets. All trap shooters of any age are invited. Call John at 823-0421 or Darlene at (859) 485-2355 for more information.
