Church Notes: June 23, 2011

Christ Community
• Last Sunday, Tom Thoburn spoke for the morning service using The Lord’s Prayer for his text. When Bro. Tom finished speaking, Rhonda sang “The Lord’s Prayer.”
• Mondays - The “Stepping into Freedom” small group is growing. It is held at 6:30 p.m. at the church, 139 N. Main Street. If you have any kind of problem or you feel you are struggling with any type of bondage, this class is for you. For more information, call 959-824-1824.
•Tuesdays – Women’s class about the “Battlefield of the Mind” at 7 p.m.
• Wednesdays - Family night with Bible study for the adults and programs for kids and youth at 7 p.m.
• Fridays - Area 25 contemporary service at 7:30 p.m.

Corinth Christian
• Fathers were honored last week. There are many qualities of a good father. Enoch had a quality of valuing family. Joshua, was attentive to details. Abraham commanded his children and his household to keep the way of the Lord. The psalmist wirtes, to train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. Take a moment to realize those who are following your example.

Dry Ridge Baptist
• June 26 – Monthly deacons meeting at 5 p.m.
July 27-July 1 - Youth and counselors will leave for youth camp in Florida on Monday and will return on Friday.
• July 4 - The church office will be closed for Independence Day.
• July 6 – 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. church-wide visitation for Vacation Bible School.

Dry Ridge Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
• The church is located at 13 School Street. Worship services 8:30 a.m. (contemporary) and 10:45 a.m. (traditional), Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. (Classes for all ages, nursery provided).
• June 25 – Full Plate Ministry will serve a free meal, to those who are in need, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
• June 26 – Chris McCoy, minister of youth, will deliver the morning message.

Family Worship Center
• July 10 – Are you searching for your place and wondering what God’s purpose is for your life? Discover His purpose for you.  Join us for Jen Tringale at 10 a.m.
• July 6 – Worship, watermelon and ice cream - Join us 7 p.m. at the Grant County Park in Crittenden. Bring a friend and meet us at the outdoor stage.
• July 20 – Kidz-4-Gsus Fun For a Day - Attention all kids ages 5 through fifth grade, invite your friends and join us from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will be games, food, candy, prizes, ice cream and more.  Bring an extra change of clothes, because you will get wet.

Grassy Run Baptist
• June 24 - Work day at the church is scheduled for 8 a.m.
• June 26 - Business meeting
• June 29 - Wonderful Wednesdays will begin. See Brother Mike for information.
• Sept. 26-28 - Some adults are planning a trip to Gatlinburg. See Brother Mike or Kenny for information.

Harvest Apostolic
• Pastor Pullens preached on “A man and his God” (Job 29:1-6, Matthew 13:19-23 and Job 6:6-13). There are a few types of people who live for God. Christians should be the type who give God our all and serve Him with everything that we can, because he deserves nothing less than our best. How do you choose to serve Almighty God?

Mt. Carmel Baptist

Oak Creek Baptist
• Father’s Day started with the baptism of Breanna Neal, Hunter Brewer, Cheyenne Adkins and Doug Brinker.
Mary Ann Wagers sung a special Father’s Day song. Bro. Baker’s message was from Matthew 1:18-25 “Characteristics of a father like Joseph: Loving Man, Man of God and Wise Man.”
• Welcome to Schae Miller and Rita Sparrow who accepted Christ and asked for baptism, also Alisha Brinker who asked to move her membership.

Stewartsville Baptist
• On Sunday, the morning service began with a puppet show by the youth about the Prodigal Son. Bro. Bruce preached of the importance and responsibility of father’s in the lives of their children and how God is the ultimate role model for the behavior of fathers.
• June 26 - The baptism of Courtney Morris, Kara Morris and Eric Maguire will be at Clark’s Creek. Everyone should meet at the church at 3 p.m. A reception will follow.

Tabernacle Baptist
• Sunday morning Pastor Larry Workman preached a message on “ Six Things About Abraham and How He Led His Family,” using Genesis 18:17-20. Abraham was obedient, believed God, commanded his family after him, tithed, looked for a better country and didn’t like strife. God blessed Abraham and will bless us as well, if we follow after him and have faith.
 

The Vineyard Grant County
• Summer is a fun time of year. The church is located at 1100 Main Street in Williamstown in the old Bucks or Less building. Sunday Celebration starts at 10:30 a.m.
 Earl’s talk will be on the super natural, part of an awesome new series. Check out the church’s website at www.vineyardgc.com and learn more about  community groups, the community garden and more upcoming events.

Williamstown Christian
• Thirty young people attended Christ in Youth in Anderson, Ind. last week. One of the youth was baptized into Christ and others dedicated their lives to Christian service. At the Sunday morning service, two young men were baptized. On Sunday evening, the young people reported on their week at CIY and what it meant to them.
• Sunday’s message was from Roman 8:14-17. God has given us the opportunity to be His children.
• This week the youth minister and some WCC youth are attending camp at Northward Christian Assembly

Williamstown United Methodist
• June 22 – Bible study at 6:30 p.m. at the church.
• June 24 – Men’s softball game at 7 p.m. at Crittenden Baptist Church.
• June 26 - Worship services at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. There will also be children’s activities during the evening service. Ms. Hillary would like to wrap up the Heifer project on Sunday.  Bring your banks to Sunday School. At that time, you will be able to decide what animals you would like to purchase. Fireproof Youth Group meet at 5 p.m. The praise and worship band will practice at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary.
• June 27 – Men’s weekly prayer breakfasts to pray, read scripture and discuss issues facing today’s man.
