Christ Community

• Bro. Josh Grooms preached from Luke, Chapter 11.  The Pharisees asked Jesus for a sign when He performed a miracle. Are we waiting for a sign before we entrust our lives to God?

• Sept. 8 - The youth will be watching the movie “Fireproof” at 5 p.m. This will be a series of lessons on dating and marriage. Bring a friend, families are invited to attend. Pizza and snacks at 5 p.m. and movie at 5:30 p.m.
• Sept. 8 - “Phil Cross Music Revival” will be at 6 p.m.  at the Sherman Baptist Church. If you plan on singing in the choir, practice will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 7 at Sherman Baptist.
• Sept. 8 - Grandparents Day
• Sept. 15 - “Old Fashion Day” dinner on grounds. The church will start a food drive.
• Oct. 20  - Oct. 23 - Fall revival with Rodney Haggett being the evangelist. He is Pastor Rick’s brother. Also, Bro. Larry Wagner will be leading the music each service. He is the minister of music at Sherman Baptist Church.

Mt. Olivet Christian

• Bro. Stewart, a Gideon speaker from Frankfort, spoke on “One Eternal God” (John 17:3).  The Bible is being printed in 90 languages now. Praise the Lord.  Bro. Paul Marksberry’s message Sunday night was “Who Did I Hear?”  I Samuel 3:1-10.

• Continuing the series “Overcoming Giants,” Sunday’s message was “Overcoming the Giant of Guilt” from 2 Samuel 11,12. God always forgives but there are consequences for sin. When people sin they must acknowledge the sin; repent; confess; have a contrite heart and accept God’s forgiveness.
