Alpine Hills Dairy and Country Pumpkins of Grant County is one of the 103 markets across the Commonwealth recently accepted into the 2013 Kentucky Farm Bureau Certified Roadside Farm Market Program.
In joining the Kentucky Farm Bureau Certified Roadside Farm Market Program, Alpine Hills Dairy and Country Pumpkins has committed to offering quality products and service to its customers. Its acceptance by Farm Bureau tells customers that Alpine Hills Dairy and Country Pumpkins meets the highest standards of quality, freshness and marketing appeal.
Alpine Hills Dairy and Country Pumpkins has a strong interest in educating people about the dairy farm life. The community can come to the farm to watch a cow being milked and learn about life on the dairy farm during their “Got Milk” days. In addition to a wide variety of pumpkins and gourds for sale, they also have lots of fun activities for the family to enjoy such as a hayrides, barrel train rides, corn maze, petting zoo, corn box, straw bale maze and more.
New this fall Alpine Hills Dairy and Country Pumpkins is offering a U-Pick pumpkin patch and a four-acre corn maze. Each fall they are open from mid-September through the end of October. “The Certified Roadside Farm Market Program partners with our farm market members to educate consumers on the importance of locally grown products including fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, fiber, and value-added products,” said Mark Haney, president of Kentucky Farm Bureau.
Brochures that list all of the Certified Roadside Farm Markets across the state are available at Kentucky welcome centers, state resort parks, local chambers of commerce/tourism centers and county Farm Bureau offices.
