“To what can we compare the kingdom of God? What story will we use to describe it?” (Mark 4: 26-34) The kingdom of God is something that we Christians long for and pray for every day. In the Lord’s Prayer, we say “thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven…” Our great hope is that one day God will overturn the injustices and evils of the world we know and establish a new community rooted in love, compassion, and kindness. But what will that community look like? How will we recognize the Kingdom when that age finally draws upon us?
