Grant County junior Danny McMahon was named athlete of the week in the Grant County News for setting a school record with 15 assists in one game.

The Williamstown Demonettes defeated thier local rivals from Grant County to advance to the district tournament. In the district final however, the Demonettes suffered a 30-point loss to Scott County. As runners-up at the tournament, Williamstown advanced to regionals and will meet Henry County at Oldham County March 14.

The Grant County Braves boys basketball team won the district tournament at Owen County High School as the Braves massacred the Rebels 74-45. Scooter Kinman led the way for the Braves with 18 points and Donnie Mitts with 17.
