Best gift is forgiveness

-A A +A

Well? Did you do it? Did you have a Merry Christmas? Did Santa bring you everything you wanted? Did you spend lots of time with loved ones? Did you eat too much? Most importantly, did you take time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas? Did you ask yourself, “What’s the greatest gift I got this year?” I hope that you did. If not, why not do it now?

For me (and I pray it’s the case for you as well), the greatest gift I continue to receive is the forgiveness of my sins because of what Jesus did for me in coming as a baby in a manger in Bethlehem and then sacrificing Himself on a Roman cross. God has declared in His Word that this forgiveness and salvation is indeed a “free gift” for all who will receive it! So did you? In the midst of all the family, food, and frenzy, did you receive the free gift of Jesus and the forgiveness available through Him?

If so, then you, too, have a hope, peace, joy, and love that surpasses anything provided by material gifts. If not, you don’t have to wait till next Christmas! You can receive it today! Will you? Contact me or another pastor and we can lead you to receive this gift that keeps on giving all through the year.
