Beans Café and Bakery opened to the general public on Dec. 12, 2011. Located at 20 Broadway in Dry Ridge Beans has revitalized a location once popular for foot longs, muscle cars and hanging out. Beans began with a limited menu of donuts made fresh daily, assorted pastries and Columbian coffee. Summer of 2012 brought bright colors and cool choices with milk shakes, hand-dipped ice cream and old favorites like the classic Banana Split and iconic Root Beer float. The menu has continued to expand into the fall and now includes a lunch menu offering  soups, salads, wraps and sandwiches.

“We want to thank the residents of Grant County for their patience and patronage as we grow and learn how best to serve them,” said owner Richard Hayhoe.

Hayhoe moved with his family from Canada in 2010 to Williamstown. With the Ark Encounter Park planned for this area, affordable housing and an extensive labor pool, Grant County had all the ingredients for a fresh startup, he said.

In honor of their anniversary, Beans will throw a party from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 15. Customers can get a free sample of cakes and pastries, a free balloon and meet Chef Bean The Mascot as well as special pricing on donuts and hot and cold drinks all day.

Beans is open 6 a.m. to  9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday. For more info go to www.beansbroadway.com or call 859-823-BEAN (2326)
