Back-to-school information

Back-To-School events are being planned at various schools in the Grant County School District. Those events include:

• Crittenden-Mount Zion

Redi-Fest for all returning students will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 28. Parents/guardians should stop by and review/update personal information on file for each student, pick up supply lists and other school information.

Open houses for various grade levels are also planned. A kindergarten through 2nd grade open house is planned for 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 10 while the open house for third through fifth grades will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 11.

• Dry Ridge Elementary

An open house is planned from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 6.

• Mason-Corinth Elementary

MCE will hold an Information Update Day from 9 a.m. to noon and 4 to 7 p.m. July 29 for all currently enrolled MCE students.

Parents should bring proof of residency and make any and all necessary changes to your child’s information (new address, phone numbers, emergency contacts and authorization for someone other than you to pick up your child) at this time. Once the information has been updated, classroom assignments and lists will be distributed. If you are unable to come to the Information Update Day, call the school at 824-9510 and make arrangements to fill out the paperwork before school starts Aug. 13. Class lists will not be posted on the door and information will not be given out over the phone.

• Sherman Elementary

SE will hold a Redi-Fest for parents and guardians from 1 to 8 p.m. July 27 for kindergarten through second grade and from 1 to 8 p.m. July 28 for third through fifth grade. Parents/guardians can review personal information, plus pickup teacher assignments and supply lists. Visitors should park in the rear of the building and enter through the cafeteria doors.

An open house is planned from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 12.

• Grant County Middle School

Sixth grade orientation/open house will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 3.

Camp Braves (for all incoming sixth graders) will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 5. Call Allison Mortenson at 824-1270 to register if you have not already done so.

Seventh grade orientation/open house will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 4

Eighth grade orientation/open house will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 6.

• Grant County High School

GCHS students may pick up schedules and pay fees from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 5. Seniors will be given priority parking on this date.

GCHS students may pick up schedules and pay fees from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 6. Seniors and junior will be given priority parking on this date.

GCHS students may pick up schedules and pay fees from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 7.

New student and freshman orientation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Aug. 10.

Back-To-School events are also being planned for Williamstown schools. All events will be held in the Williamstown High School gym.

Those events include:

• Back to School Bash (grades 9 – 12) – 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 4

• Sundae Social (grades 6 – 8) – 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 9

• Readifest (grades 1-5) – 6:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 10

• Kindergarten Orientation – 7 to 8 p.m. – Aug. 11

Fees are as follows: kindergarten, first, and third grade - $45; second grade - $20 plus supply list; fourth grade - $51; fifth grade - $35.75 plus supply list; sixth, seventh and eighth grades - $57; ninth – 12th grades - $68 plus a $10 lab fee and $82 AP class fee if applicable.
