Anticipation high as Williamstown students return for 2014-15 school year

-A A +A

Welcome back to Williamstown Independent Schools for the 14 – 15 school year. Anticipation is high among students as well as staff for another outstanding year.
Although we miss those who have left us, as this new school year begins, we are excited to meet and greet the many new faces we are welcoming to our schools and community.
I would like to express my appreciation to our custodial and grounds crews who have worked diligently through the summer to prepare our buildings and grounds for the return of our students.
Additionally, much work goes on behind the scenes in the district during the summer in order to have things up and running again for the next year; supplies are ordered, staff is hired, teachers/staff are trained, finances are audited, leadership prepares for the implementation of new programs, the board of education reviews and revises its policies and procedures, etc.
As you can see, it takes our whole staff to work in the summer to be ready for our students.  Much appreciation to all who have spent their time preparing for another great year.
Our students have taken advantage of a wide variety of activities that have gone on all summer long ranging from summer school, band, basketball and volleyball camps to our back to school events.
With just a few weeks under our belts, students are excited to see their new schedules, learn who their teachers will be and get back into an academic and social routine.
The district prides itself on its long tradition of excellence and as each new year begins we work hard to provide our stakeholders with the kinds of academic programs that allow us to achieve our mission statement… Engaging, Educating and Empowering All Students for College and Career Readiness.
We have been consistently recognized regionally and nationally as an institution who delivers the most educational bang for the dollar. By choosing to send your children to Williamstown Independent Schools, you are ensuring they will receive a global 21st Century Education in a safe and caring environment.
We appreciate your collaboration as we work together to make “Williamstown Independent Schools the best reason for living in Williamstown.”
