Jennifer Carr is the Mason-Corinth Student of the Week. She is in Judy Boggs homeroom and was nominated by guidance counselor, Lisa Wiggins. She is a helpful student and gets along well with everyone. She lives in Corinth with her parents, Mike and Martha Carr and has two brothers and one sister. She like s to read, write and go swimming.
Tameca Vannarsdall was named UCA All-Star Cheerleader at a cheerleading camp held on the University of Kentucky campus in Lexington. She is a senior at Grant County High School and is the daughter of Daryl and Debbie Vannarsdall.
September 10, 1987
Donald A. Johnson, son of Barbara Kinmon and Ed Johnson will be set apart by art of ordination into the Christian ministry. The service will take place in the afternoon at the Sherman Church of Christ. Speakers will be Tom Simpson, Bob Stacy and R.J. Kidwell.
Last May, students from the elementary schools in the county participated in a balloon launch during track and field day. A balloon belonging to John Kells, a 9-year-old student from Dry Ridge Elementary, traveled all the way to Gambier, Ohio, about 60 miles northeast of Columbus, Ohio.

Bruce’s Grocery at Mason had a special sale last weekend and gave a number of prizes at a drawing Saturday night. First prize winner was Henry Neace, second place was James Morrison and third place was Jim Colson. These won a half gallon of ice cream, Al White, Willena Petrie, Woodrow Knight and Kim Simpson.
Winning the coveted Commissioner’s Trophy for the best in 4-H Club showmanship in the State Fair Dairy Show was the grand climax to Wayne Colson’s season of showing his Brown Swiss division. Wayne won his first in showmanship in the Brown Swiss Division other years but this was the first in all divisions combined.
