Angel Franks Barnes graduated from Michaels College of Hair Design. She took a practical exam in Frankfort and scored a 9490. She graduated from Grant County High School in 1995. Franks is now employed at the Beauty and The Beast on Main Street in Florence. She is the daughter of Bobby and Mary Franks of Crittenden.
Seven employees of the Grant County School District, David Thompson, Carol True, Phyllis Case, Flo Bingaman, Dixie McClure, Lou Aguilar and Kelly Cassidy, were given a “Hats Off To You” after being nominated by fellow employees for going above and beyond the call of duty.

After seven weeks of intensive training, two troopers from the Kentucky State Police at Dry Ridge have been certified in accident reconstruction. Captain Tommy Fields, Post Commander said that Kenneth Jones and Al Rich will be used for investigation of fatal and serious injury crashes.
Navy Seaman Charles H. Rudd, son of Martha L. Conrad of Corinth has completed recruit training at Recruit Training Command in Orlando, Fla. Rudd’s studies included seamanship and close order drill. A 1987 graduate of Grant County High School in Dry Ridge, he joined the Navy in July 1987.

A new Social Security tax rate will go into effect for nine out of 10 working persons Jan. 1. For employed persons, the 1963 tax rate is 3.5 percent for employees and employer. The next regularly scheduled Social Security tax increase is due in 1966 and the last, unless the law is changed, will be in 1969.
Charles Hutcherson, formerly of Corinth and now a resident of Cosa Mesa, Calif. left Nov. 25 for Europe where he will spend several weeks. Hutcherson is a quality control manager of Autonetics, a division of North America Aviation Company in Downey, Calif. Hutcherson graduated from Corinth High School in 1937.
