In the unlikely event of an impending tsunami, volcano eruption or crashing iceberg, Grant County residents will be prepared.

A federal FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant recently was awarded to Grant and Pendleton counties and the City of Williamstown that will provide weather radios for every household in the county.

According to U.S. Census data, there are approximately 10,300 housing units in Grant County.

The grant also will fund five weather/emergency sirens and back-up generators for the City of Williamstown and Pendleton County.
