The Youth Performance Award winner for January is Williamstown High School senior Ali Rich. As a young woman of faith, she looks for opportunities to tell others about “our savior Jesus Christ.” She is purpose-driven to live out her faith by “serving others along the way.”
Although she has been involved in high school sports, she won’t be playing at the college level because she is looking forward to immersing herself in academic study.
What are your extra-Curricular Activities:
I am involved in the National Honor Society, Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, varsity golf and varsity softball.
What is your community involvement:
I am involved in my youth group and church activities at Williamstown Baptist Church.
What is your class schedule:
I have Advanced Placement English, which is teaching me to have stronger work ethic and expand my knowledge greatly in English literature. I am also taking colleges classes at Northern Kentucky University Grant County in the areas of speech, criminal justice, theater appreciation and a class in race, gender and the mass media. At graduation, I will have 15 college credit hours.
Favorite teacher or teachers:
My favorite teacher is my math teacher Deana Cummins. She is not only full of knowledge, but also a great role model for all ladies.
What do you do for fun/recreation:
I love anything outdoors. My favorite thing is playing sports.
What are your future plans:
I plan on attending Morehead State University in the fall, where I will study psychology. Eventually, I hope to work in the field of neuropsychology and do research towards curing Alzheimer’s disease, which has plagued my family.
