Twice a year in the Navy we had to do what was known as a physical readiness test. This was a test that made sure you were still in good enough shape to help tie a slip knot or something and it consisted of the normal things such as touching your toes, push-ups, sit-ups and the like, but the worst part for me was the mile and a half run. I despised running, still do. But when we were stationed at Pascagoula at the ship yards we had a guy there by the name of Petty Officer Evans.
